SHANGHAI, June 15 (Xinhua) -- The number of daily visitors to the Shanghai World Expo Park reached a new high Tuesday as 546,700 people had entered the Park by 8 p.m., the organizer said.
This figure broke the earlier record of 524,900 set on June 5.
The three-day public holiday of the traditional Dragon Boat Festival, lasting from Monday through Wednesday, was believed to have brought more visitors to the Park than on normal days.
The Expo, with the theme "Better City, Better Life," has drawn participation by an unprecedented 189 countries and 57 international organizations.
The event, running from May 1 to Oct. 31.
